Norway Study Tour Review - Evaluation Report
In 1993 Reforesting Scotland organised a study tour to Norway, which aimed:
- To examine the Norwegian land use system and to identify the economic, social and environmental benefits and problems associated with it in the context of land use in Scotland.
- To develop thinking on issues relating to the future of land use in Scotland such as forestry, farming, crofting, rural policy, environmental management, rural development and land tenure.
Twelve years on, the directors of Reforesting Scotland decided to commission a survey to find out how circumstances and situations in Scotland have moved on with regard to the themes identified in the Study Tour report. Has Reforesting Scotland been influential in stimulating debate about the future for rural Scotland? Would it be valuable to organise another Study Tour? - and if so, where?
